The month of May (Ordibehesht in the Iranian calendar) has become a special month for Iranian sociologists and social scientists. For the past several years, the Iranian Sociological Association has had its biennial assembly in May which has been usually accompanied by a conference on a theme related to either social problems of our society or the challenges of social sciences.

Iranian Sociological Association gains high rank among scientific associations in Iran

According to the office of the 10th Festival for Researchers and technologists (2009) which is held by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Iranian Sociological Association has gained the highest rank among humanities associations for the second consequent year and will be mentioned in the list of the top scientific associations in the humanities group.

Council of National Associations published: "A Critical Review of Iranian Efforts for Development of Alternative Sociologies"

 

The papers from the Council of National Associations (CNA) Conference which was held last year in Taipei Taiwan have been published in digital format and are available
to everyone.
This conference with the theme “An Unequal World: Challenges for a Global Sociology”
was held in May 2009 and now the papers have been published in three volumes divided according to region.
